I’d had an entry all set to go describing how to make an custom bootable 10.4.3 DVD. As seems to be my luck in such cases, it got consigned to the memory hole when I flicked back out of the widget I was using to post to check my email. When I hit F12 to bring my widget back up, my entry was gone. Guess I should have copied it, to be on the safe side, to something outside my widget. Lesson learned for the future. 

Last gifts have been bought, vacation coverage is arranged. Ahh, Christmas.

I bought my last Christmas gift last night, one for my grandmother who is hard to shop for. Hopefully, she’ll like the package I picked up for her from The Bath and Body Works. I also picked up my last gifts for Lauren last night. I told her that she had the option of opening them last night, which she did and said she loved them. She also gave me a gift, which had just arrived from Amazon yesterday. What did she get me?

More wireless networks starting to pop up near my house.

I noticed tonight that I’m seeing more and more wireless networks pop up as being available in my house, in addition to my own hidden, secured wireless network. To my neighbors’ credit, only one is showing up as being unsecured. Most of the others are being managed and WEP encrypted. While WEP isn’t as good as WPA, it is better than nothing and will keep casual bandwidth thieves from stealing yours or doing something else more nefarious.
