Yaargh. Hard drive crash.
I suffered a hard drive crash over the weekend that took out the blog entries (and everything else) on the server from about mid-August on, which was the last time I made a good backup. The bad news is that I don’t think I can recover the old blog entries. The good news is that the blog seems to be the most adversely affected.
Highlights from the missing blog entries:
I went to San Francisco. Whoo hoo!
Muir Woods is pretty. I’ve got pictures available here:
NetRestore can work with disk images created by Disk Utility or Carbon Copy Cloner. However, if you want the ability to verify the restore, use Carbon Copy Cloner to create the disk images. However, those CCC-created disk images will not be usable by Disk Utility for its Restore function. If you really need one unified set of disk images, use Disk Utility. Otherwise, make two sets.
Alright, back to the task of making better backups. A lesson for all of us, really….
