South Korea: Our allies in Iraq.
One thing that's been pretty much consistently overlooked in the furor over Iraq is the role our allies (aside from the Brits) have been playing. The South Koreans recently sent over 2,800 troops to Irbil in northern Iraq, becoming the second largest U.S. coalition partner in Iraq after Britain.
These troops are focusing more on reconstruction more than fighting insurgents, as the north of Iraq is generally quiet. The existing local Kurdish forces are providing security, while the Koreans concentrate on construction.
